4 ProCare Rate Approvals
A special mailing regarding ProCare Medicare Supplement rates for new business and renewals has been mailed to General Agents in North Carolina, and Tennessee.

Check your state(s) ProCare rate memo for complete effective date information and cut-off dates for business written with old rates. If you did not receive this notice, please contact the Agent Service Center at 800-925-7355.


4 Good Sense Plan Approvals
A special mailing regarding Good Sense Plan (GSP) premium rate increase approvals effective May 1, 2003 for new business and renewals has been mailed to General Agents in North Carolina.

4 Interest Rate Set
The Lifestyle Annuity new money interest rate for the month of March is 4.00 percent. Rates will continue to be reviewed and adjusted accordingly.

The Deposit Fund Rider interest rate for 2003 has been set at 4.00 percent.


4 Conversion Reminder
To clarify our Med-Supp conversion procedures, when we say conversion it means a replacement of an existing United American policy. If you are converting (replacing) an existing UA policy with another UA policy, the agent will not be paid any new business commission, including advances.

4 UA Partners Reminder
This is a reminder that the new UA Partners program is now available (effective March 1) for new business only. The packets you received regarding UA Partners contained a new Enrollment Form (Form 3840). Please use this Enrollment Form for all new business, even if your current product application/brochure contains a section for Partners enrollment. The Enrollment Form has also been placed on App/brochures have been updated to omit this section. To order updated materials, please contact Agent Supply. The Enrollment Form is also available online at www.uageneralagency.com/office for your convenience.

Partners clarification: For Med-Supp customers, each applicant must enroll individually in the UA Partners program and use separate ID cards. For all other new business, only one Partners card per family is necessary.


4 Attn: Life & Health Agents
Multiple Life and Health premium bank drafts now may be combined into one draft, provided the drafts are due the same day of the month from the exact same bank account. Even though the payment may be for multiple policies, insureds will see one draft amount on their bank statement.

4 Attn: NC Agents
Effective April 1, 2003, North Carolina has adopted new NAIC model regulations regarding Life and Annuity replacements. For this reason, a new Replacement Notice Form (Form REPNOT/00) and a Certification Sheet (Form CSM 12-02) must be completed and signed by the applicant and Agent if a replacement occurs. The cut-off date for new business is May 1, 2003.
