4 Interest Rate Set
The Lifestyle Annuity new money interest rate for November is 4.25%. Rates will continue to be reviewed and adjusted accordingly.
4 2002 Medicare Premiums
The Part B premium payment automatically deducted from recipients’ monthly Social Security check for 2002 will be $54, and the Part B deductible will remain $100. For more information refer to the Medicare Part A and B chart on Pages 9 and 10.
4 Attn: Maine Agents
Effective immediately, the app/brochure form for United American’s Plan 511 will now be state specific for Maine. The new form number is WL-2 LA6 (18). You can order updated supplies by contacting Agent Supply at (800)285-3676.
4 Attn: NH and OR Agents
Effective immediately New Hampshire and Oregon have adopted new NAIC model regulations regarding Life and Annuity replacements. For this reason, a new Replacement Notice Form (form REPNOT/00) and a Certification Sheet (form CSM 06-01) must be completed and signed by the applicant and Agent if a replacement occurs. The cut-off date for new business is Dec. 15, 2001.
4 Commission Statement Update
United American has updated its commission statement for those Agents contracted after Jan. 1, 1997. The new format is the same as the old; however, it is now easier to read. The check that accompanies the commission statement has been updated as well. The check follows a new format which is now more secure, to lessen the opportunity for altering the face amount of the check.
