4 ProCare Rate Approvals
Effective immediately, Agents in Texas will be selling Attained Age rates on ProCare Plans B, C, and D. Plans A, F, and G will remain issue age rates in these states. United American offers choices of premium structures on selected Medicare Supplement plans in order to give Agents more flexibility and clients more choices. Updated supplies have been sent. For additional materials, please contact Agent Supply.

4 HealthGuard Approvals
Effective immediately, UA’s Critical Illness plan, HealthGuard, is approved for sale in Arizona, Georgia, Hawaii and Rhode Island. New supplies will be sent Dec 1. For additional materials, please contact Agent Supply.

In addition, a new HealthGuard app/brochure has been approved for most states (see chart below). New supplies will be sent Dec.1. Additional materials may be ordered through Agent Supply.

4 Attn: All Agents
Effective immediately, the Consumer Form (Form 3749) has been updated to include information on state health pools. Supplies have been sent. Please ensure your Agency is using version 9-03 of the Consumer Form.

4 Interest Rate Set
Lifestyle Annuity: 3.00% Minimum
As announced in the August edition of UA News, the guaranteed minimum interest rate has been lowered to 3% where state approved. The new money interest rate for the month of November is 3.25 percent for these states. Rates will continue to be reviewed and adjusted accordingly.

Lifestyle Annuity: 4.00% Minimum
Massachusetts, Mississippi, Montana and New Jersey will retain a 4% minimum guarantee rate until the 3% rate is approved. The new money interest rate for the month of November is 4.00 percent for these states. Rates will continue to be reviewed and adjusted accordingly.

The Deposit Fund Rider interest rate for 2003 has been set at 4.00 percent.


4 2004 Medicare Premiums
The Part B premium payment automatically deducted from Medicare recipients’ monthly Social Security checks for 2004 will be $66.60, and the Part B deductible will remain $100. For a review of the new 2004 Medicare deductibles refer to the A/B chart on pgs. 9-10.

4 Attn: Colorado Agents
As mandated by the State of Colorado, Medicare Supplement coverage must be available to eligible individuals under age 65 for a six month open enrollment period which began Sept.1, 2003. A special mailing which includes new premium rates has been sent.

4 Danger List Reminder
When a policyholder is 15 days past-due, their policy information will posted to the “Danger List” of potential lapses or cancellations. This list is found on your commission statement for you to review.

4 Holiday Schedule
The McKinney Home Office will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov. 28 in observance of the Thanksgiving holidays. We wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
